What is a Fairy Tale?

People of all ages enjoy make-believe stories called fairy tales. Fairy tales have inspired plays, ballets, movies, paintings, toys and sculptures. There were many fairy tale authors, but perhaps the most well-known writers of fairy tales were Hans Christian Andersen of Denmark and brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm of Germany.
